This exhibition showcases 100 artworks representing the career of visual artist Farouk Shehata; one of the pioneers of printmaking. He began his artistic career while he attended the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, from which he graduated in the early 1960s. Throughout a long creative journey, he shifted from one artistic phase to another creating an abundance of innovative and distinct artworks.
The exhibited collection features artworks, donated to the BA by the artist, that were created using Shehata’s various preferred printmaking techniques. They represent the different artistic phases he went through and reflect how his experience and artistic character have developed throughout these phases.
