In its effrot to create international artistic and creative encounters that aim at bridging the gaps among different civilizations and enhancing dialogue between cultures, the Arts Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is hosting the First International Biennale for Hand Printed Artists' Books, 22 April and throughout May 2004.

The first round of the Biennale, entitled "Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Old and New;Dialogue and Bridges between Cultures", will include participant artists, publishers and authors from Egypt, Africa and the world.
