The Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosts the Conference on Information Systems & Technology Management (CISTM 2004), 8- 9 July 2004. The conference is organized by the Information Institute, a non profit, non partisan information policy and research organization.

The CISTM Program is a serious attempt to provide a genuine interface between academia and executives with the objective of engendering mutual co-operation and understanding. Under the main theme of "Improving Business Performance through Knowledge Management," the conference hosts distinguished speakers from all over the world, including Mohamed Youssef, Arab Academy for Science & Technology, Egypt, and Larry Prusak, Distinguished Scholar in Residence Babson College, USA.

The CISTM 2004 is chaired by Zahir Irani, Brunel University, UK, and Sherif Kamel, American University in Cairo, Egypt.
