The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is honored to host the centennial celebration of the establishment of the Academie Goncourt, and its support of the Francophone movement. This celebration will be attended by Mrs. Edmonde Charles-Roux, President of the Academy, and several of the Academy members and Goncourt Prize Winners. It will enlighten the Alexandrian audience with the Academy's history and activities.

The Academie Goncourt, named after the brothers Edmond and Jules de Goncourt, eminent figures of the 19th century French literary world, is more than just an academy; it is a French cultural foundation that has been granting the Goncourt Prize every year in Paris, France, for the past century.
