Photos from the 1908 Pilgrimage to Mecca

The BA, in cooperation with the Dominican Institute for Oriental Studies in Cairo (IDEO), is organizing an exhibition of photographs taken during the 1908 pilgrimage from Cairo to Mecca. The photos were found recently in the archives of the Dominican Province in France.

The photographs follow the itinerary of the pilgrimage from Egypt. The Ottoman army, the Consul of Persia, and several doctors can be seen in these photographs as they arrive in Jeddah.
