The Peace Studies Institute which is a joint endeavor of The Suzanne Mubarak Women’s International Peace Movement and The Bibliotheca Alexandrina will be launched on the 15th and 16th of February, 2006. The Institute will focus on research and training, prepare material and case studies, and help the Movement to ground its actions in well-researched and well-studied material, and to promote the culture of peace, enhance human security as well as expand the role of women and young people in the process of peace building.
The Institute will seek to engage in a series of partnerships on the regional and international levels, the first of which is the collaboration with The University for Peace in Costa Rica. Three Nobel laureates will be joining the many renowned personalities attending this launch.
