In light of the International White Cane Safety Day, this year, the Taha Hussein Library aims to spread awareness on the usage of the white cane and on interaction with the visually impaired, among people with visual impairments and sighted people. It is a three-day celebration:
The first day, which will take place at the BA Plaza, will include some activities regarding the cane and visual impairment. The second day will take place at El-Noor School for Blind Girls to spread awareness by encouraging activities related to the white cane.
Finally, the last day of the event will be hosted at Alexandria Language School to educate the students about the white cane, as well as how to interact with their visually-impaired peers.
