The Bibliotheca Alexandrina organizes a session to discuss the book Disarming Beauty, on Wednesday, 26 December 2018. The book is translated from Italian to Arabic, and is one of the latest publications of the BA. Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, is intended to deliver the opening speech of the session.
Participants at this event include Father Julián Carrón, Professor of Theology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan; Dr. Wael Farouq, Professor of Arabic Literature at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan; Dr. Hussein Mahmoud, the translator of the book, together with a host of writers and intellectuals.
Disarming Beauty tackles the main elements of meditation adopted by Father Julián Carrón since his election as the leader of the global ecclesial movement “Communion and Liberation.” His writings are a testament to the meaning of life and faith today, and a call for acceptance and tolerance. The book also discusses several focal issues where Christianity is linked to culture, politics and education.
