Tahia Halim is a symbol of the impressionist school in the Egyptian modern artistic movement where she occupies a great position. She has Egyptian features that cannot be missed, formed during her several trips to the Egyptian South (Nubia), the Egyptian countryside and oasis. All these added a serene, gentle and melancholic touch, in keeping with the Egyptian environment at that time. Her early journeys to France and Denmark also contributed to her artistic character and wide horizons, eventually making her one of the most prominent artists of her generation.
