The project Medistone: “Preservation of ancient Mediterranean sites in terms of their ornamental and building stones: from determining stone provenance to proposing conservation/restoration techniques”, is funded by the European Commission. The project proposes to contribute to the knowledge and the conservation of three of the most important ancient sites in North Africa: Volubilis in Morocco, Djemila in Algeria, Alexandria Lighthouse in Egypt.
