Within the framework of the BA’s endeavor in preserving human heritage, the Manuscripts Center is organizing an advanced Arabic Manuscript Critical Editing Course. The five-day course will be conducted by Dr. Bashar Awad Marouf.
The course will include various lectures on examining books of Quranic interpretation (tafsir), Hadith, and fiqh, as well as literary books. There will also be lectures on how to compare different copies and how to create catalogues.
The course targets the employees of institutions and centers that are concerned with heritage, as well as the researches of major libraries in Egypt and in the Arab World.
The last Manuscripts Center publication is a new edition of The Hadith catalogue (from the collection of the Alexandria Municipal library), prepared by Mohamed El-Barsigy, a researcher at the BA Original Manuscripts Section.
