The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is hosting the fourth conference of the National Council of Women on the 16th of March 2004, according to an announcement by Dr. Farkhonda Hassan, Secretary General of the Council.
The main theme of this year’s conference will be ‘the developmental aims of the millennium’. This corresponds to the Council’s strategy of reviewing all aspects of social development, especially those relevant to women and the family.
Selecting the Bibliotheca Alexandrina as the venue for this year’s conference gives it both a national and international scope. The Library is an international cultural institution that is located in the historical city of Alexandria.
