The Library Services Department at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, holds the Research for All program, which aims at teaching you how to carry out a research; by showing you the different ways to look up information, in print, such as an article in a magazine, a reference book, a book, or in non-print: multimedia material, e-resources [websites, databases].
The tutorial offers five modules. Each takes approximately 90 minutes.
Module 1: Using the BA Catalog to look for various print, multimedia and e-resources.
Module 2: Looking up information, in different resources, types of books and references and how to make use of them.
Module3: Using the Internet and developing Internet search skills.
Module 4: Using e-Resources: Web resources, Databases, and Periodicals on-line.
Module 5: Writing and presenting your research findings and preparing your final research paper.
In short, Research for All introduces concepts of information literacy, helps develop lifelong learners. These fundamental concepts will be useful for any type of research you may carry out in contributing to your success.
Lectures will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00 pm-4:30 pm.
