The Arts Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina presents a five-day cinema program, entitled "The Encounter between East and West." The program presents several Egyptian/ European productions.
Films will be shown in the Auditorium at 7:30 pm.
- Sunday 19: "The Hawk", an Egytpian/ Italian production (1950), directed by Salh Abou Seif.
- Monday 20: "Love in the Desert", an Egyptian/ Spanish production (1959), directed by Leon Klimovsky.
- Tuesday 21: "Beggars and Nobles", an Egyptian/ French production (1991), directed by Asmaa al- Bakry. The film will be followed by a discussion with the director.
- Wednesday 22: "Mercedes", an Egyptian/ French production (1993), directed by Yousry Nasr Allah. The film will be followed by a discussion with the director.
- Thursday 23: "Closed Doors", an Egyptian/ French production (1999), directed by Atef Hatata. The film will be followed by a discussin with the director.
