Our Cities workshop is interested in how Alexandrians experience their neighborhoods. Participants will explore how senses and memories affect our experiences of urban space. The workshop is a part of Susanna Jurvanen's and Senni Jyrkiäinen's artistic research project. Susanna Jurvanen is a Finnish artist working with video, audio and installation. Her earlier works have been about subjectivity of perception and shared stories that create the communities. Senni Jyrkiäinen is a PhD-candidate in social and cultural anthropology at the University of Helsinki, Finland and currently a Visiting Fellow of the Finnish Institute in the Middle East at the BA. Her work focuses on youth and social media.
