The Middle East Librarians Committee (MELCOM) is the European Association of Middle East Librarians, a non-governmental organization enhancing cooperation among individuals and institutions in Europe, North America and the Middle East. It is devoted to all aspects of librarianship, book collecting, the book trade and publishing. The MELCOM International Conference will take place in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Over 120 librarians from all over the globe are expected to attend this conference, which will provide an international exchange of ideas on librarianship and book research in a friendly and professional environment, combined with informal activities and scholarly tourism.
