The ceremony will include a theatrical performance of Broken Man, which is adapted from the novel by Tahar Ben Jelloun, the Francophone Moroccan author. The performance is a product of a drama workshop which was held during June–September 2014, where the participants in the workshop transformed the novel into a play and then performed the text they had written. Some of the participants have also composed musical pieces specifically for the show. Another group handled the décor and the outfits for the actors. Seventy young readers have participated in the workshop this year. The show will be presented in Arabic and will be accompanied by sign language translation.
The ceremony will also include a video presentation about the play, titled “Think and Express”, that was created during the workshop for the deaf. The winners of the competitions about the novel will be announced (Arabic, English, and French Essay contests, the Art Competition, and the Photography Competition), and participants in all workshops will be awarded.
The event will also be broadcast live through the BA webcast service, and all of the accepted contest essays will be posted on the contest’s blog. Moreover, all of the accepted works in the photography and art contests will be posted on the Main Library's Facebook page.
