The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is hosting a meeting and workshop where forty information literacy and lifelong learning experts from all six major geographic regions of the world will convene to develop recommendations for UNESCO's member nations on how major economic and social challenges such as poverty, unemployment, and disease can be tackled using information literacy and lifelong learning.
The activities are organized by UNESCO, the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) and the National Forum on Information Literacy (NFIL). Omar Sharif, the Egyptian actor and producer, will address the participants.
