Professor Refaat Kamel, a former international president of the International College of Surgeons, was given the State Merit Award, and received the Golden Medal of Excellence from HE President Hossni Mubarak. He played a pioneering role in hepatic and tropical surgeries, that is surgeries for illnesses that are widespread in tropical areas. Professor Kamal will discuss these surgeries in detail, the causes of many tropical diseases and the preventive measures that should be taken.
