This lecture is organized by the BA Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies, and it will be given by Professor Christian Leitz, Director of the Institute of Ancient Near Eastern Studies (IANES), University of Tübingen, Germany.
The lecture will discuss the temple of the Lion-Goddess Repit and her husband Min-Re in Athribis, located about 15 Km south of Sohag in Upper Egypt. The lecture will focus on the new decorations of the Ptolemaic temple, which was built by Queen Cleopatra’s father Ptolemy XII.
