Organized by the International Peace Bureau in cooperation with the Institute for Peace Studies, Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
This Conference aims at building a global network to pursue three objectives:
- To encourage states to shift resources away from military spending and towards greater investment in sustainable development;
- to draw attention to the negative impact of weapons on the development process and to promote disarmament; and
- to integrate these efforts into peace and social justice campaigns around the world.
The meeting will bring together experts, advocates, diplomats, students, journalists and civil society representatives from many countries.
The deadline for registration is Thursday 1st of November 2007.
