The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum,in cooperation with the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo, is hosting an exhibition entitled “The Islamic Art Museum’s Lens”. The exhibition will be on display from 24 April to 24 May 2018, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Main Building, Antiquities Museum Entrance (B1).
The exhibition is the outcome of a photography competition of the same title organized by the Museum of Islamic Artin cooperation with ADASA Photography Clubin August 2017. 285 photographers participated in the competition, out of which 66 photos of 39 professional artists were selected. Each artist participated with two photos sized 30×40 cm or one sized 50×70 cm; all photos showcase masterpieces and collections of the Museum of Islamic Art’s antiquities and halls.
The photos were exhibited at the Museum of Islamic Arts,in addition to a huge First Prize Award Ceremony held on 10 October 2017. The photos were also exhibited at a number of cultural centers, such as Port Said Cultural Palace on 11 January 2018 and the Indian Cultural Center in Cairo on 4 February 2018.
