Sound Track Orchestra was founded in 2018 by the violinist Mohammad Barakat, with the assistance of the pianist Amir Awad and the rhythmist Sufi Al Jarzawi. The orchestra performed its first concert at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in 2018. It is considered the first orchestra specialized in playing Arab and foreign films and series soundtracks.
