The opening ceremony of the exhibition will include a lecture by Sultan Sooud Al-Qassemi, Founder of Barjeel Art Foundation, on politics in modern Arab art. Hurufiyya is an artistic trend that aims to create visual art inspired by Arabic calligraphy. The exhibition will showcase a number of hurufiyya artworks from the Barjeel Art Foundation collection, dating back to the 1960s up until modern day. It will also showcase works by different Arab artists.
