A group of educators and public figures from Egypt, in addition to officials from the Magna Charta Observatory will participate in the Workshop.
The Magna Charta Observatory aims to gather information, express opinions and prepare documents relating to the respect for, and protection of, the fundamental university values and rights laid down in the Magna Charta Universitatum signed in Bologna in 1988 by 388 Rectors of worldwide main universities.
According to the recommendations of the Magna Charta Observatory to involve North Africa/South Mediterranean in the development of higher education and in the execution of the Bologna Declaration 1999, the university , academic and administrative communities in Egypt will discuss during the workshop the possibility of applying this declaration in Egypt. Participants will also review whether the Magna Charta principles and values are appropriate to the circumstances and conditions of the institutions now and in the future.
