“Egyptian Aspects of Coptic Art and Architecture” in a Lecture at the BA

Alexandria— The BA is hosting a lecture entitled “Egyptian Aspects of Coptic Art and Architecture” on Monday, 16 June 2008, by Dr. Mokhtar El-Kasbani, Professor of Islamic and Coptic Antiquities, Faculty of Archeology, Cairo University.

The Lecture will deal with the origin of Coptic language, St. Mark's evangelization, the Coptic martyrs, the Egyptian Church during persecution, the Egyptian emblem in the Coptic art, and the architecture of the Coptic Church.

The Lecture is part of a series of lectures organized by the Friends of Shadi Abdel Salam Museum, entitled “The Living Past….Egyptian Civilization Over the Decades”.

The Lecture will start at 18:00 hrs. at the BA Auditorium.
