New Zealand Donates Valuable Books to the BA

HE Ambassador Rene Wilson, Ambassador of New Zealand to Egypt, accompanied by a senior delegation, visited on Thursday, 23 October 2008, the BA which is a scientific and cultural landmark not only in Egypt and the Middle East, but the entire world.
Ambassador Hagar Islambouly, Head of the BA External Relations Sector, and Dr. Sherif Riad, Director of the Public Relations Department, accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Library that included a Multi Media Show, presentation of Description de l'Egypte, Internet Archive, and Gamal Abdel Nasser website. The tour also included the Antiquities Museum, the Impressions of Alexandria Exhibition (Mohamed Awad’s Collection), and the Culturama.
At the end of the visit, Ambassador Rene Wilson donated a collection of valuable books amounting to100 titles covering the economical, political, social and cultural aspects of life in New Zealand. He stated that the BA is considered a beacon of science and culture, and expressed his pleasure to provide such a gift to the Library to enrich it’s multilingual and multicultural collection.
