The BA is preparing to launch, at the end December 2008, a digital archive documenting the life of the late President Mohamed Anwar El Sadat. The archive takes its users on a historical tour through the web, where they can explore the various aspects of Sadat’s personal and public life, through thousands of photographs; documentary films; rare documents; speeches; well-known quotations; as well as the most significant articles about him in local and foreign newspapers.
Dr. Khaled Azab, Director of the BA Media Department and supervisor of the project, said that that the digital archive can be browsed through a number of themes: speeches; photographs; documentary films; documents and publications; in addition to the newspaper archive. Besides, the home page provides access to a complete life-history of Sadat.
Dr. Azab added that the digital archive provides easy display and access to all information, through the means of search tools that enable a number of features: a time-line search, a morphological search, an exact search and an advanced search.
