The BA Participates in a Conference on Intellectual Property in the Arab World

Alexandria— The BA participates in “the Third Regional Conference On the Challenges Facing the Application of the Intellectual Property Laws in the Arab World”. On the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day, the Conference is co-organized by the League of Arab States, the Regional Institute of Intellectual property, the Faculty of Law, Helwan University, in collaboration with the Union of Arab Lawyers and the BA, on 27 and 28 April 2009.
The Conference will be attended by a number of specialists and researchers from the Arab World and abroad. Participants will discuss the impacts of intellectual property on culture, education, food, agriculture, public health and monopoly.
This year, the World Intellectual Property Day has the theme of “Green Innovation” to promote green innovation as a key to a secure future.
Member States in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) decided in 2000 to designate an annual World Intellectual Property Day. They chose 26 April, the date on which the Convention establishing WIPO was originally entered into force in 1970.
