“Plant a Tree” Project at the BA

Posted on

Alexandria—During the celebrations of the World Environment Day, the BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC) organizes “Plant a Tree” Project on 1 July 2009.

“Plant a Tree” is part of the PSC environmental program that fosters the sustainable development of students who participate in the PSC activities. It will enable them to understand the importance of trees in filtering the air by producing oxygen and absorbing carbon dioxide, which eventually saves our planet. This is another perspective different from the usual concept of benefiting from trees in only shading and decorating.

The march will start in the morning when students will be taken from the BA Plaza to San Marc's garden to start planting the trees with the help of the PSC animators and the local gardeners. An expert will be present to explain the process of plantation and how to calculate the ecological footprint.
