Posted on
The Bibliotheca
Alexandrina organized a scientific festival for celebrating the arrival of
the planet Mars to the closest distance to Earth since 60,000 years. This
celebration was an exceptional opportunity to astronomers, specialists and
amateurs to monitor the planet Mars and clearly study the details of its
surface.
The
Celebration began with a lecture entitled “an encounter with the Red
Planet”. Ayman Ibrahim, the Researcher and Astronomer at the planetarium
delivered the lecture, which incorporated a number of discoveries, facts, plans
for sending astronomers, and establishing colonies on the planet Mars.
The
lecture was followed by the monitoring process, which devised 4 telescopes of
different sizes. The Planetarium also displayed 3 free shows on the red planet
and the other stars in space.
More
than 2000 participants who came to witness the phenomenon, which will not take
place till 2287, attended the festival.
