The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex-Med) celebrates the launching of Memoirs of Nubar Pasha, translated by Garo Robert Tabakian, on Saturday, 12 June 2010.
Originally from Armenia, Nubar Pasha was the Minister of Ministries of Transport, Works, Interior and Foreign Affairs. He was also the first Prime Minister of Egypt in the Cabinet established by Khedive Ismail in 1878. He assumed office three times before he passed away in 1899.
Translated for the first time, the Memoirs reveal another face of Nubar, who was always accused of allying with foreigners.
The Book Launch takes place at 7:00 pm at the BACC Lectures Hall, and is open for public.
