The BA Young People's Library Members Win an International Award

Bahaa Sharaf and Alaa Alddin Gaber, members of the BA Young People’s (YP) Library, won the Gold Award (2nd award ) in the "Doors to Diplomacy" educational competition sponsored and organized by the U. S. Department of State and the Global SchoolNet Foundation.
This competition recognizes middle and high school students’ web projects that best teaches others about the importance of international affairs and diplomacy. Two hundred sixty three teams, representing 29 countries participated in this round.
The YP Library team designed and launched a website, “Peace Around the World”, fostering the idea that peace and democracy are two faces of the same coin, in addition to pinpointing challenges in the way of achieving peace. The website features information and multimedia material about peace, democracy, the United Nations, some biographies of peacemakers, as well as references, bibliographies and databases tackling the same issue.
