The BA holds a cultural ceremony on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Amkenah Magazine on Sunday, 19 September 2010.
The Ceremony is coordinated by Writer Alaa Khaled, one of the three editors of Amkenah together with Mouhab Nasr and Salwa Rashad. The ceremony presents critical readings by Egyptian writers and researchers and discusses Amkenah in the eyes of its writers and contributors, and Amkenah from the perspective of youth.
Amkenah is an independent non-periodical magazine concerned with the culture and significance of places, as a human dimension that presents stories, events, and meanings, through nontraditional writings and attempts to build a connection between texts and photos.
On this occasion, the Arts Center screens the documentary film Garbage Dreams, directed by Mai Eskandar.
The Ceremony is open for public and will take place at 9 am at the BACC Lecture Hall.
