The White Cane Safety Day at the BA

The BA Taha Hussein Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired holds the International White Cane Safety Day on Monday, 1 November 2010.


The event starts with a stand up at the BA Plaza -in front of the Planetarium- followed by a ceremony in the BACC Great Hall to highlight the significant role played by Taha Hussein Library and the white cane in the daily life of the visually impaired persons.


The International White Cane Day is a global event celebrated every year by the blind and visually impaired. Taha Hussein library, took the lead in holding this celebration for the first time in Egypt to demonstrate the rights of the blind and visually impaired, to raise their awareness as to how and why use the cane, and to rally support of the concerned parties for blind pedestrians.
