A National Dialogue about the Constitutional Amendments at the BA

The BA hosts on Monday, 7 March 2011, a national dialogue on the current constitutional amendments.
The Seminar hosts Sobhy Saleh, Member of the Constitutional Amendments Committee formed by the High Council of the Armed Forces, and Chancellor Hatem Bagato, Committee Reporter, and is moderated by Dr. Mohamed Mohieldin.
The Seminar tackles several themes including an overview on the current political, legal and constitutional contexts, the nature of the Committee’s work and its relationship with the High Council of the Armed Forces, reasons behind the constitutional amendments rather than the drafting of a new constitution, the amendments within a constitutional and revolutionary contexts, the constitutional articles before and after the amendments, the logic behind running parliamentary elections before the presidential elections, and the impact of the amendments on the laws governing political rights and formation of political parties, and elections.
The Seminar is held at the BACC Lectures Hall at 6:30 pm, and is open for public.
