The National Strategic Plan for Urban Development in Egypt

The BA holds on Sunday, 9 October 2011 a seminar entitled “The National Strategic Plan for Urban Development in Egypt” presented by Dr. Mohamed Fathy El-Baradei, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Development.
 

Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Head of the General Organization For Physical Planning (GOPP), will also participate in the seminar. His speech will be followed by an address by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria and an open discussion with the public.
 

The National Strategic Plan addresses the current challenges in Egypt including poverty, illiteracy, expected increase in population, energy, water and mal-distribution of population.
 

The Seminar attempts to form a futuristic vision for Egypt for the coming 40 years, and specify the economic activities towards achieving this vision. 
 

The Seminar is held at the BACC Great Hall at 11:00 am, and is open for public.
