The BA Participates in the 21st Conference of the Egyptian Library, Information and Archives Association

The Egyptian Library, Information and Archives Association organizes its 21st conference in collaboration with the National Library and Archives of Egypt, which will be held at the Main Hall of the National Archives of Egypt in Fustat, Cairo, Egypt; 8–10 July 2018. The subject of the conference this year is Information Facilities in the Digital Age and Future Prospects: The Inevitability of Change and Transformation.

The conference would be held under the patronage of Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture; Dr. Hesham Azmi, Chairman of the General Authority of the National Library and Archives in Cairo; and Dr. Amany Megahed, President of the Egyptian Library, Information and Archives Association.

The conference, gathering renowned professionals from various “Information Facilities”, including all institutions concerned with information, knowledge and archives, such as libraries, information centers, museums and more, to discuss the Digital Age and its influence on the different information facilities, is attended by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, represented in Ms. Rania Osman, Head of Libraries of the Future Section.

It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Library, Information and Archives Association was established in 1944 at Cairo University, and registered in Giza Governorate, Egypt under the registration number 808, moving to other locations afterwards until it reached its current address; 1 Mohammed Galal street, Ruslan square, Faisal, Giza, Egypt. The association works on the sustainable professional development and cultural development of the professionals in the field of library and information science allover Egypt, representing them and their vision to the concerned officials and entities.
