The BA Dialogue Forum, in cooperation with the Arab Reform Initiative, holds “The Arab World is Changing” Conference on 12 and 13 December 2011 in an attempt to study the radical changes that Egypt and the Arab world are facing.

The Conference tackles the current pressing issues such as the different political powers stance regarding the Arab revolutions; the role of Media in the Arab revolutions; the military-civilian relations; and the future of diversity in the Arab world. “The Arab World is Changing” Conference also poses the question of whether one can theorize the reasons behind the Arab revolutions.

The Conference Opening Session witnesses speeches by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, and Dr. Basma Qadmany, Executive Director of the Arab Reform Initiative, in addition to the Conference 2 Special Guests, George Isaac, Co-Founder of Kefaya (Enough) Movement, and Political Researcher Ibrahim El-Huddiby. The Session is moderated by Dr. Sameh Fawzy, Deputy Director of the BA Dialogue Forum.

Eminent intellectuals, politicians, researchers and activists from Egypt, Tunisia, Syria, Yemen, Algeria, Sudan and Bahrain will participate in the Conference.
