The Taha Hussein Library Monthly Programs

Posted on

Being the first digital library of its kind in Egypt, the Taha Hussein Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired organizes special monthly programs to enhance the research and reading skills of blind and visually impaired adults and children, and also provides services for sighted people.

The program presents a variety of courses, such as Computer for Beginners, International Computer Driving License (ICDL) and advanced courses in programming and Web design to enable the blind to meet the requirements of the labor market. The TH patrons will be also trained to use the white cane as a main tool in movement through Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Training, with special focus on blind children.

Moreover, Braille Training for Sighted People is offered as part of the program in order to introduce the Braille world to the public.

Registration starts on 1 January 2012, and is open for public free of charge. Priority is given to early registration at Taha Hussein Reference Desk at the (E) Level or via e-mail to: TahaHussein@bibalex.org

The monthly program will be regularly uploaded on the BA Calendar of Events, BA Facebook Fan Page and Twitter Account.
