The BA Sinnari House, in cooperation with the Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT) and the Manuscripts Center, organizes a seminar entitled “Sinnari House: History, Culture, and Heritage” on Sunday, 29 November 2020, at 6:00 pm. The event takes place in Sinnari House, and celebrates 226 years since the establishment of this historical place in Sayeda Zeinab, Cairo.

The seminar will tackle the history and architecture of Sinnari House, one of the most fascinating buildings that date back to 1794. It will be delivered by a group of remarkable scholars, including Dr. Mohamed Afifi, Head of the History Department at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University; Dr. Osama Talaat, Head of the Jewish, Coptic, and Islamic Antiquities at the Supreme Council of Antiquities; Ms. Hend Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Professor of Modern and Contemporary Egyptian History; and Ms. Agnès Macquin, Director of the Library of the French Institute for Oriental Archaeology in Cairo (Institut français d'archéologie orientale).

Furthermore, a photo exhibition will be held as part of the celebration, with a special presentation of “The Wall of Knowledge”, which is a new and creative application designed by the BA Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT).
