The BA Publishes the First Arabic Children’s Story on Underwater Cultural Heritage

The BA Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies published a children’s story on underwater cultural heritage, in cooperation with Alexandria University, Marianna V. Vardinoyannis Foundation, and the UNESCO Chair for Underwater Cultural Heritage. The story is written by Gihan Nabil Zaki, and illustrated by Osama Ali and Hadir Dahab.

First of its kind in the Arabic library, the story aims to introduce children (aged 6 – 12 years) to the value and importance of underwater cultural heritage, as well as highlight the necessity of its preservation. It is also the first BA publication targeting children. in this field

This initiative was announced during the celebration that marked 10 years since the establishment of the Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies.

The story is an outcome of cooperation efforts between the Alexandria Center for Maritime Archaeology and Underwater Cultural Heritage of the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University and the Honor Frost Foundation in the UK.
