The BA Writing and Scripts Center organizes the 13th round of its Arabic Calligraphy Competition for school students in Alexandria, in cooperation with the governorate’s Directorate of Education. This year’s round is dedicated to the late artist and Arabic calligraphy teacher Mohammed Roteil, for his role as the founder of the competition during his time as a former employee at the BA.

The competition is aimed at primary, preparatory and secondary school students. Winners will receive special prizes from the BA, in addition to those presented by the Directorate of Education. Exceptional students are also expected to receive certificates of merit.

The competition will take place over three days. It will start on Monday 15 November (for primary students), Tuesday 16 November (for preparatory students), and Wednesday 17 November (for secondary students) at the BA Conference Center. The results will be announced in a ceremony on Tuesday, 30 November 2021.
