The BA Writing and Scripts Center organizes a lecture entitled “The Rock Art of Kharga Oasis”, delivered by Dr. Salima Ikram, Professor of Egyptology at the American University in Cairo. The lecture is held on Wednesday, 2 March 2022, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, in the Auditorium Hall, BA Main Entrance.

The lecture tackles the different rock arts that emerged in Kharga Oasis, in the Western Desert of Egypt, and explores some of the results of the archaeological survey project, which was executed in the north of this Oasis. It also discusses the climate impact on the local environment over thousands of years.

Professor Salima Ikram earned her PhD from the University of Cambridge, and worked in a number of academic institutions and international museums. She became a member of several international committees specialized in archaeology, and authored many important books, including North Kharga Oasis Survey: Explorations in Egypt's Western Desert, and Divine Creatures: Animal Mummies in Ancient Egypt.
