The BA Center for Strategic Studies is organizing the first session of the Alexandria Dialogues Forum, under the title "Egyptian Water Security: Threats, Risks and Means of Confrontation", on Sunday, 20 November 2022, at 12:00 pm, in the BACC Lecture Hall.

The Alexandria Dialogues come within the framework of the New Republic's efforts to uphold the values and principles of national dialogue. These efforts mark an important step in a comprehensive process aimed at building stability, both at home and abroad, and emphasizing the idea of raising a new generation that enjoys an open personality, an enlightened mind and a free critical sense, while believing in a culture of dialogue and the acceptance of the opinions of others.

From this standpoint, Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, pointed to the need to adopt an active role in this regard, through the Alexandria Dialogues Forum, which is a "periodic meeting" that hosts political, cultural and intellectual figures. It is an open dialogue with the public that is intended to discuss everything related to political, economic, social or cultural affairs, as it emphasizes the role of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in being the link between state officials, intellectuals and the public. It also strives to build bridges of cooperation among the pillars of the Egyptian cultural movement, and participate in foreseeing future policies.

The first meeting of the forum will witness the participation of Vice Admiral Mohab Mamish, Presidential Adviser for the Suez Canal and Seaport Projects, and former Commander of the Naval Forces; and Dr. Mohamed Shawky El-Anany, Professor of International Law at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. It will be moderated by Dr. Ali El-Din Helal, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Cairo University, and former Minister of Youth and Sports.

The forum concludes with an open discussion with the attendees, which aims to enrich community interaction and contribute creative ideas and solutions to this vital issue.
