The BA Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program is organizing a seminar entitled “African Youth Vision for Sustainable Development” on Tuesday, 7 February 2023, at 11:00 am, in the BACC Great Hall. Nearly 300 African League of Young Masters (ALYM) students, representing countries including Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Malawi, Madagascar, Comoros, and Egypt, will attend the event.

The seminar aims to raise awareness about the concept of sustainable development and its objectives among African students, as well as clarify the most important initiatives taken in this regard, especially with Egypt's launching of the "Decent Life in Africa" initiative last November during the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), with the aim of improving the quality of life for the African population.

The seminar will also discuss the challenges facing the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, from the point of view of these youth, in addition to identifying the most significant areas that must be addressed in the coming period, while highlighting the important role of African women in achieving sustainable development.

It is worth mentioning that the BA has adopted these youth through a series of specialized programs, most notably the "African League of Young Masters” Program, which was established in 2011 and targets African students studying at Alexandria, Cairo and Ain Shams universities. These programs aim to strengthen Egyptian-African relations and open channels of communication between African students and their Egyptian peers in order to develop their knowledge and scientific skills.
