Representations of Saint Knight in Coptic Art

As part of the Fourth Coptic Cultural Season held in Cairo, the BA Coptic Studies Center is organizing a lecture titled “Representations of Saint Knight in Coptic Art” on Sunday, 14 December 2014. The lecture will address how the different representations of Saint Knight in Coptic art symbolize faith and adhering to religious creed. In addition to that, the lecture will shed light on the origins of these representations in civilization, as well as showcasing scenes of saint and martyr knights that adorn various artworks, including murals, icons, textiles, and many others.

Presented by Dr. Shaza Gamal Ismail, an assistant professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, Helwan University, the lecture will be held on 14 December 2014, from 15:00–17:00, at the Center’s Cairo premises: Administrative Building, Sofitel Maadi Hotel, next to Sadat Academy for Management Sciences, at the BA office on the 23rd floor.
