EU HR Javier Solana visits the BA

Alexandria, 11 July 2005—Mr. Javier Solana Madariaga, Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union (EU) and EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, paid a visit to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) on 10 July 2005.
During the visit, Mr. Solana toured the BA’s different departments, museums and exhibitions, accompanied by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Ambassador Taher Khalifa, Director of the BA External Relations Sector, and he was introduced to the services that the BA offers its visitors and the roles that its affiliated research centers play.
