Exploring types of Arabic calligraphy (Req’a and El-Diwani)

Alexandria, 27 September 2005—The Calligraphy Center at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is organizing a lecture on Req’a and El-Diwani types of Arabic calligraphy by Mr. Mohamed Rotail.
Mr. Rotail, Arabic calligraphy expert at the BA, will shed light on the history of both types of calligraphy, their characteristics, similarities and eminent artists. In addition, he will present the works of these famous calligraphy artists.
The lecture begins at 12 pm in the Auditorium at the BA.
