Alexandria — BA in cooperation with the Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF) will organize during next April the Fourth Symposium on Scientific Research Outlook in the Arab World.
Dr. Mohamed El-Faham, Director, BA Center for Special Studies and Program (CSSP) stated that the symposium aims at activating the role of scientific research and technological development to alleviate the relative lack of knowledge in the Arab World, which is the main hurdles in the face of scientific achievement and human development. Dr. Faham adds that the conference also aims at assessing the performance of the Arabic scientific community, pinpointing its weakness and suggesting adequate solutions, pushing forward investments in science and technology, and linking scientific research with investments in the Arab world. The symposium also encourages Arab researchers and scientists to conduct specialized activities, especially in the fields that are priority for the Arab World, and identify exemplary experiences to further develop them for the best scientific interest of the Arab world.
The symposium discusses several themes including: first: harvesting Arab output in science and technology to achieve sustained development in the Arab World; second: the Arab scientific community and economics of scientific research; and third: priorities of scientific research in the Arab World, and specialized scientific themes.
